AWS Amplify Docs site

AWS Amplify Growth team and I launched a rebrand of Amplify: new brand style guide, fresh illustration, and an updated Documentation website. I created the visual system and three new components for our main users: full-stack and front-end developer. The website redesign was announced during re:Invent — the AWS annual conference in Las Vegas, USA.

I was on a ten person R&D team including industrial designers, researchers, product managers and hardware engineers. We explored foldable mobile design solutions based on previous research insights. The goal was to create various key user scenarios and to build a cohesive product story within the 3 year plan.

This plan helped motorola to launch their first foldable smart phone.

I was a solo design lead who shipped five XL* size features working with 5 product managers, and 3 engineering leads during my first 20 months. To elevate the level of design maturity within the team, I initiated a series of weekly critique sessions, vision workshops, and lightning talks. These efforts have enabled us to establish a solid foundation of knowledge and a streamlined process for project prioritization.

Droid Turbo 2:
Star Wars

Droid is a product partnership between Motorola and the U.S. mobile carrier Verizon. Along with the visual design lead, I worked to develop a Star Wars campaign in celebration of the much-anticipated return of the movie to the cinema. I designed the wallpaper installation process, allowing users to easily switch between five wallpapers on their device.

Gladly Routing

Gladly is a B2B contact center platform that connects enterprises with their customers. I was a core member of a new concept called Gladly Routing. It is a patented technology that efficiently links customers with the most suitable agent, using a range of criteria. In 2021, the company successfully obtained a patent for this innovation. You can find my name on this patent.

Huge Café

In 2015, Huge, the digital advertising agency opened a physical coffeeshop in Atlanta, Georgia. As one of the UX designers involved, I conceptualized the digital coffee ordering experience before Starbucks introduced its order and pay ahead feature. My contributions are:

-- Designed user journey for placing orders through mobile devices.
-- Optimized order prioritization based on distance and proximity.

principals.me is a collection of stories from designers and researchers working in Principal roles. I started this passion project when I was curious to find out “what is life like for designers and researchers who stay on the individual contributor path for the long term?” By conducting interviews, I hope to share examples of career paths that lead to working in design and research at the highest levels.
